CSA Spartanburg SC - SHARECroppers Farm.

Thrilled to get my first basket last week - chock full of just-picked veggies and, thoughtfully, recipes to use in cooking with them. More than enough for my family of 3 and my parents. I look forward to being "stretched" in the kitchen with ingredients we don't usually see in grocery stores. It's my understanding we'll continue to get veggies on a week-by-week basis as long as there is something at the farm to harvest.
Thank you, Robin.

Great Experience
By: Nicole Erickson    (Nov 4, 2009)

Robin is not only a good farmer but thoughtful and caring and makes the effort to go the extra mile. She knew I am diabetic and do not like shelling peas, so whenever it was possible, she tried to accommodate these preferences/needs. Her baskets are full of a wonderful array and variety of vegetables. For unusual ones she provides recipes and suggestions on how to prepare, and she caters to your wishes. Our Vegetable consumption went way up just by being a member of her CSA, and we got wonderful fresh vegetables with superior taste. The potatoes were so flavorful they were out of this world. I believe we also saved money on Groceries by doing this and I know we ate in a more healthy way! I woudl recommend this CSA to anyone who want to eat fresh and local and I have! Thanks Robin - it was a privilege and a pleasure to participate! Nicole Erickson

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE
By: Lisa Smith    (Aug 22, 2010)

This was my first season to CSA(ing) and I'll admit, I was a bit hesitant. I gave it a try in spite of my uncertainties and I'm so glad I did! Robin is wonderful and the CSA experience that I've had with SharCroppers has been all I could ask for. This was one of the hottest summers on record and we had WEEKS without a drop of rain, yet somehow Robin provided a bountiful harvest each week without fail. She plants unique crops and tries to provide recipes each week to give ideas for preparing. She offers tours of the farm to all the shareholders and you can't help but feel like you have a relationship with your food and the people who grow it... it's what the 'C' in CSA is all about! I highly recommend giving it a try.

1st Time CSA
By: Scott Beidler    (Nov 4, 2009)

I had the privilege of trying out the first (and only I believe) CSA in Spartanburg SC this past year (got it as a gift for my wife) and it was an awesome experience! Robin at SHAREcroppers Farm was wonderful - knowledgeable and willing to share her expertise, answering all our questions. The variety of heirloom vegetables was a definite plus as it expanded our selections as well as challenged our time in the kitchen finding recipes that used some vegetables we would not ordinarily cook with.
